Russia is in a new socio-economic situation, and one of the most important conditions for the successful solving of the existing problems is a human factor. Strategic objective of the Faculty of Psychology, St. Petersburg State University, is to study this factor on the different levels of social and political systems, the social community, organization, individual professional experience.

Ontopsychology is a scientific school in the field of modern foreign psychology and psychotherapy. The term "Ontopsychology" consists of three Greek words: "Ontos" - being, "psyche" - soul and "logos" - mind. Thus, ontopsychology is the science of being in the psyche. As a scientific school ontopsychology was founded in 1970 by Prof. A. Meneghetti (Italy), theorist and practitioner, psychotherapist, with academic degrees and diplomas in the fields of philosophy, theology, sociology, and psychology.

A common point among psychologists and physicians, psychotherapists, architects and teachers, between writers and experts of other creative professions was found in ontopsychology.
