Features of bodily perception in melolistics and dance therapy. Laura Mayo (Italy, 2006), St. Petersburg State University

The work has attempted to analyze the approaches to the perception of the body, offered in dance therapy and melolistics. However, dance therapy, as well as all music therapy in general, is often designed for the treatment of patients with physical and psychological dysfunction, and melolistics offers a very different concept of music therapy. It is different in purpose, its own epistemology, methodological process and the results to be achieved. Thus, the aim of this work was to identify the nature and impact of melolistics and dance therapy training on features of adults’ own body perception.
